Crippling blow

Crippling blow

It’s a scene that recalls Kathy Bates ‘hobbling’ of James Caan in the movie Misery. A 30 year-old woman in Dunhuang, Gansu decided her husband required similar treatment – not out of infatuation, this time, but more out of concern that her husband’s gambling addiction was out of control, reports the Lanzhou Morning News.So she paid a man named Wang Rmb10,000 ($1,464) to shoot her betrothed in the legs. As a result, she figured, he’d no longer be able to leave the house; and ergo, gamble (she clearly hasn’t heard about online betting). A case of tough love, perhaps, but it did not pay off. She and Wang have both been arrested.
