They say you can never beat the casino but, for a particular casino-and-resort in Macau, Beat It was on everyone’s lips this week.
Michael Jackson’s iconic song was first released in 1983, the same year that he invented the Moonwalk dance– and glided across the stage with his famous rhinestone-encrusted glove.
That glove has hit the news again, after being bought by a Macau hotel owner for $420,000. Hoffman Ma, owner of the Ponte 16 gaming resort, bid for the glove at an auction of Jackson memorabilia. Ma also purchased a shirt worn by ‘the King of Pop’ in the Thriller video and a pair of his sequined socks too. He plans to open a Jackson gallery at his five-star hotel, to lure Jackson fans from across China.
