In an era where people are deluged with emails, junk mail and other forms of communication, how best to capture the attention? Perhaps with a bullet. Residents in an apartment building in Hohhot definitely got the message when a notice was posted on their walls that ordered them to move out. Stuck to the demolition notice was a bullet, and a promise that any who failed to move would receive “a gift”. A senior police officer told the China Daily the origin of the bullets was being investigated. But residents are convinced the Mingze Real Estate Company is behind it. One occupant says their water and power have already been cut in an attempt to get them to move out. Mingze has offered local residents compensation if they leave (although below market rates, complain those in the building) but has denied issuing notices with bullets, reports Xiaoxing Morning Herald.
