Hollywood has written many scripts on messy break-ups, but few could compare with a recent case in Jilin province. A 22 year-old woman in the city of Changchun was devastated when her boyfriend of four years dumped her for another girl just as they were making plans to get married. In revenge the woman (identified only as Ms Li) dressed in her wedding gown, and shouted abuse at her former lover from her 7th floor apartment window. Then she jumped out. Luckily a local community officer caught hold of her dress (see photo) and the so-called ‘suicide bride’ was not hurt.
