Wedded bliss?

Wedded bliss?

When it comes to getting divorces, Liz Taylor takes some beating. She had seven husbands, after all, and even married one of them twice (actor Richard Burton). But a couple in Hebei province may well make even Taylor’s marital affairs look orderly. That’s because the young couple have now divorced and remarried each other six times. Yes, all in four years. Website says the Zhangs first got married after they graduated from university, but their relationship turned sour after the birth of their daughter (on this occasion Ms Zhang did the divorcing because her husband played online games all the time). However, their affections rekindled and they married again. Then they rowed and divorced again. This pattern repeated itself (they’re now on marriage seven). News of the couple went viral after their most recent attempt to divorce last month (having only remarried in April). This time they were arguing over the daughter’s education. The judge found them so agitated that he ordered mediation to calm them both down. It seemed to work. On August 30, Ms Zhang decided she no longer wanted to divorce, asking the judge to withdraw her application. We’ll see how long that change of heart lasts…
