Lei Jun plays down parallels with Apple’s founder in a series of remarks directed against the local media on his weibo. The boss of fast-growing smartphone firm Xiaomi was particularly annoyed by what he saw as journalists taking out of context his remark that “the users aren’t gods”. He said the media had failed to include the second half of his sentence: “We will treat our users like friends”.
