Pope Francis sends a message to President Xi Jinping last week. It was the first time that a Pope had been allowed to fly over China, a country that maintains no diplomatic relations with the Vatican. En route back to Europe, the Pope told a group of reporters, “Do I want to go to China? Of course, even tomorrow,” before adding, “I have prayed a lot for the beautiful and noble Chinese people.”
