
Ren Zhengfei
Huawei’s founder Ren Zhengfei reiterates that the telecoms equipment manufacturer is a purely commercial concern, in spite of US allegations that it is an arm of the government. Ren told delegates at Davos “We have never been asked by a government to spy” – and added Huawei’s network equipment was like “water pipes”, and thereby too crude to facilitate spying.
