Gordon Dewar, CEO of Edinburgh Airport, welcomes the arrival of the first direct flight from China, which landed on Tuesday. The newly inaugurated Hainan Airlines flight connects Beijing and Edinburgh four times a week. (Technically, the return leg of Edinburgh-Beijing is not direct, as it picks up passengers in Dublin.)
