It’s safe to say that a marriage isn’t working when the husband tries to get himself jailed so he can spend a few days away from his wife. Such was the revelation in a case this month in the city of Zhoushan. The husband, surnamed Liu, had hoped that he would get a couple of peaceful days in detention by confessing to a made-up crime. But following another huge row with his wife, his plan unravelled when he decided to push the button on his plan by calling the police to say he had murdered her. Not surprisingly they took this pretty seriously and rushed to arrest him. He subsequently denied killing her but had no idea where she was as she had fled and taken both their phones with her. He explained that he was tired of their constant argument and reported the false crime hoping to get some quiet time in a cell. The law enforcers eventually tracked down the woman and confirmed she was not hurt.
