Kitchen criminals

A restaurant in Sichuan has nabbed a couple of repeat food burglars that have been enjoying 2am feasts by climbing in through the kitchen window. After making their own meals from stolen meat skewers and the restaurant’s spicy boiled soup, the two men initially went undetected because they did a good job of cleaning up after themselves, even mopping the floor. But according to ThePaper.cn, the duo gave themselves away when they left wine glasses out on a restaurant table. The suspicious owner, Ms Jing, decided to check the security cameras and found the evidence of the men coming in well after midnight on each of the previous three nights. The footage suggested that the two men were taking about an hour to eat and clean up. Calculating they were stealing about Rmb300 ($43.32) worth of food each night, Jing called the police. The local cops then lay in wait for the hungry intruders – bursting in on them at 2am as the thieves prepared for another meal.
