Gerhard Schindler, former head of the German intelligence service, tells the UK’s Times newspaper that the Chinese are intent on “world domination” and Europe must wake up to the threat. He listed China’s economic hegemony over swathes of Africa, the influence of the Belt and Road Initiative and activities in the South China Sea among his concerns.
