Consular comeback

David Firestein, a former US diplomat and CEO of the George HW Bush Foundation for US-China Relations, added that the US had “gained nothing” by closing down the Chinese consulate in Houston last July thanks to the reciprocal closure of the US consulate in Sichuan, “a booming province on the scale of a nation”.
