Tencent’s vice-president Song Zhonghuai trashes short-video content at the China Internet Radio & Video Convention last Thursday. The remark was widely viewed as an attack on Bytedance’s popular service Douyin. The two tech rivals have feuded for some time, with Bytedance retorting that Sun’s comments were “arrogant” and “stigmatised the short-video industry”.
