Relics at the ready

“Objects from the Palace Museum will be shipped to Hong Kong from Beijing in May and the museum is set to open in July”

Louis Ng Chi-wa, director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, told the China Daily that the museum’s striking new building in West Kowloon will house more than 900 exhibits, of which 166 will be ‘first-class cultural relics of China’. The project is the Palace Museum’s first branch outside the Chinese mainland, costing about $450 million to complete.
