Filmmaker Zhang Yimou discusses his decision to incorporate a notably small flame into the Olympic Opening Ceremony in Beijing last Friday. Netizens compared it to the vast cauldron used at the 2008 Summer Olympics which featured “a huge flame burning masses of gas every hour,” according to the China Daily.
