
US climate envoy John Kerry tells the Financial Times that China has “generally speaking, outperformed its commitments” in tackling global warming. Beijing cut short climate talks with the US after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan but Kerry was keen to laud Chinese climate efforts, perhaps as a means to restoring engagement.
