Dmall is an e-commerce platform that provides digital retail solutions. It was founded by Zhang Wenzhong, the founder and chairman of Wumart Group, in 2015.

Three years earlier Zhang was cleared of financial misconduct charges after spending more than five years in prison. Since release from jail he has pioneered Dmall’s platform, offering help to traditional brick-and-mortar businesses to bring their services online via its own cloud service and retail operating systems.

As of February 2021, Dmall had signed deals with more than 120 supermarket chains, providing support to more than 13,000 stores. Monthly active users of Dmall’s app had also reached 18 million.

There had been 4 rounds of financing by November 2020, with investors including Industrial Bank, IDG Capital and Tencent. Reuters reported that the company had hired bankers in March this year in hope of going public in the United States in the second half of 2021.
