Moviebook is a technology company with expertise in ‘intelligent video production’. Effectively it deploys computer vision and deep learning in the structuring and delivery of online video.

Its sales push is that its technology improves the chances of monetizing video content through improved presentation and interaction with viewers. It started out providing commercialisation services for clients in the internet, film and video streaming sectors but has since grown sales in online education and e-commerce areas as well.

Investors include SenseTime, SoftBank and Qianhai M&A Fund. In February 2021 there was new investment from the New Oriental Education and Cultural Industry Fund in what was expected to be the final financing before it went public in Shanghai. However, the Chinese media and Moviebook executives have since gone cold on the prospects for an IPO, implying that preparations have been put on hold.
