Suning Sports is the sports unit of Nanjing-based appliance retailer Suning Group. Its primary focus is content for sports streaming, sports retail, and sports training. In 2016, the company also acquired a 70% stake in Italian football club Inter Milan for €270 million ($306 million at the time).
In 2018 Suning Sports raised a Series A round of funding worth $600 million led by Goldman Sachs and Alibaba Group, as well as property developer partner Evergrande, Yunfeng Capital, Sports Industrial Fund of Zhejiang Province and Jiangsu Province, in addition to a number of Chinese banks including CCB International, Minsheng Bank International and ABC International.
