This statement details ChinTell’s collection and use of personal data in the context of the Week in China email newsletter and companion website. The information we gather is detailed in the following paragraphs.
All subscriber data is stored in a highly secure facility and no subscriber information is shared with third parties, other than HSBC.
We collect basic biographical information in order to send you a weekly issue of Week in China, and/or for you to access the Week in China website. If you wish to discontinue your subscription, you can do so through the links at the bottom of the weekly email.
If you receive the html-formatted version of the newsletter, your opening of the newsletter email is notified to us and saved. Your clicks on links in the newsletter are also saved. These and additional statistics from the website are used in aggregate form to give us an indication of the popularity of the content and to help us make decisions about future content and formatting.
Occasionally, an issue of the newsletter or a page on the website may carry a survey. Participation in the survey is voluntary. Individual responses are saved and used to prevent multiple voting by any individual.
